Healthy Hot Cocoa

Who doesn't love a nice warm cup of hot cocoa during the cold winter months? I know I do! However hot cocoa can have quite a bit of sugar per serving and the calories can add up quick. Does this mean you have to give up hot cocoa in order to be healthy? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Now having the prepackaged sugary hot cocoa every now and then is completely OK! But if you are an avid hot cocoa lover like I am, I have a delicious low calorie recipe for you to help curb those sweet cravings.

What you will Need

-5 grams of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (approx. 1 tbsp)

-1 cup Milk of choice (I typically use unsweetened cashew milk because a cup is only 25 calories!)

-Stevia (serving size depends on if you are using the powder, packets, or liquid)

That's it! It's that simple! Just warm up your milk with a microwave or pan and pour over the cocoa and stevia. Mix well and there you have yourself some nice delicious low calorie hot cocoa! Also because we are using unsweetened cocoa powder, our hot cocoa has 2 grams of fiber! Want to spice this recipe up?

Try Adding

-Cinnamon

-Pumpkin Pie Seasoning

-Vanilla Extract

-Fat Free Whipped Cream
